    Volatilization to Indoor Air Specialist - Remediation and Redevelopment Division

    Matthew Williams is a volatilization to indoor air specialist with the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE), Remediation and Redevelopment Division. He leads development and implementation of vapor intrusion investigation, assessment, and mitigation methodologies to protect indoor air quality. As technical lead for EGLE’s Vapor Intrusion Technical Assistance and Support Team, he has authored key guidance, SOPs, and technical papers, and delivered extensive national and international training. Matt has held multiple leadership roles with the Interstate Technology & Regulatory Council and led the national vapor intrusion guidance update, recently released, and currently serves on the Board for the Association of Vapor Intrusion Professionals (AVIP).

He’s recognized for his knack in simplifying intricate challenges and identifying practical solutions for ambient air, vapor intrusion, and fence-line assessments. Kesler is a collaborator at heart, enjoying partnerships with industry stakeholders, regulators, consultants, and research teams. His approach is all about improving processes and outcomes for everyone involved, earning him a reputation for consistently exceeding client expectations.

    Beyond his extensive experience, Kesler actively participates in industry committees dedicated to enhancing air sampling practices. He’s genuinely passionate about raising industry standards and sharing his knowledge to help his colleagues excel. Kesler’s journey is a testament to his dedication to simplifying complexities, building strong partnerships, and delivering practical solutions in the ever-evolving realm of air testing.
